The diner offers fast service, making it a convenient choice for busy mornings or quick lunches. Guests rave about the great coffee, perfect for those early starts. The menu's standout feature is the sweet potato fries, which come highly recommended and are often described as freshly hand-cut and slightly dusted with powdered sugar. Many diners also appreciate the homestyle feel of the dishes, reminiscing about culinary experiences from their past. The extensive dessert case, brimming with cakes and pastries, gets frequent shoutouts from satisfied customers who look forward to finishing their meals on a sweet note. Overall, the friendly staff and inviting decor foster a warm and cozy atmosphere, ideal for gatherings.

Most Disliked

Some visitors have noted that the diner can get quite busy during peak times, particularly on Sunday mornings, leading to longer wait times. Others mention that while the extensive menu is impressive, it can be overwhelming to choose just one dish, especially with so many beloved classics to consider. Occasionally, the noise level increases during busy hours, which can detract from the casual dining experience for those wanting a more serene environment. Lastly, a few customers have pointed out that while the diner excels in many areas, they occasionally have small hiccups with meal accuracy, such as missing requests or substitutions. Thankfully, the accommodating staff usually rectifies these issues promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction.

I will dare to say Hub City Diner is a well kept secret with menu and style from a bygone era. It serves typical diner food like subs and sandwiches but takes it to the next level by serving sweet potato fries that tasted freshly hand cut and fried with just an angel's sprinkle of powdered sugar. I ordered panini rueben which came with french regular fries and pickle. (shout out to the pickle which was perfect in taste and texture-pickle lovers will understand) My server was very accomodating and let me switch to sweet potato fries (perfect in every way, try them)and she did so without skipping a beat and was very pleasant to interact with. The menu is quite extensive like I remember diner's being in my childhood. I feared the best accomodations and favorites were gone forever from the dining experience until I stumbled upon Hub City Diner. This place seems willing to cater to me, the customer, and serve me the way that makes me happy and not in the one taste fits all limited suffocating atmosphere of popular big chains. The food was delicious in that way that only old time diner food can please. Perhaps, sadly, millennials don't even know what I mean? On the Sunday I visited it was quiet with only a few people so this location is the perfect weekly spot to relax, rejuvinate and gather with family to prepare for the coming week. This place also boasts a wonderful refrigerator case of delicious cakes and pastries served at table or to go. I will definitely be back with my entire crew.

Desserts were Devine. Cobb Salad was huge. Grandson got breakfast wrap, again huge. Hubs got a Ruben sandwich and said it was delicious. And the other grandson had chix tenders off kids menue with soup. All the food was fresh, good and hot. The server was very kind.

My family and I had an awesome experience here today! Melissa was a great server and I was pleasantly surprised to see one of my favorite servers ever… Sarah! I haven’t seen her since she worked in Winchester a few years back. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing and very cutely decorated! The prices were really impressive! We will def be back! We had: crab Swiss melt, French dip panini and kids spaghetti- zero complaints!

If you want to remember or take a trip to see what customer service, the customer is always right, old fashioned Southern hospitality, is all about this is the place to go. Cassandra was THE BEST. We were a party of 9 arriving at different times. Cassandra was a pro she was great with the youngest to the oldest. She had a smile and kind words for each of us. The food was delicious. Definitely returning

This place was absolutely fantastic! Me and my family (party of 16) come to eat here every few years because my uncle comes to town, and I absolutely love this place. Our waitress, Michelle, was the only person serving us, and despite our massive party, the food (entrees, appetizers, desserts, drinks, sides, salads, soups) was all served to us in maybe a 20-25 minute wait, which is incredible! The staff were very respectful and sweet, and very receptive to our needs, like if we needed refills for our drinks or extra sauces for our food. They are not stingy with their food, especially their sides!! My side of fries was absolutely huge, and even as a pretty big girl I couldn’t finish half of my food and had to take it to go (not a complaint). I got the Black Diamond Steak that comes with 2 skewers of shrimp, and I got a side of fries and a salad, and a crab cake. One of my shrimp skewers was a little over cooked, but because my party ordered so much food, it’s completely understandable. I’m also a little sick (which will definitely impact my sense of taste), but since I’ve been here before, and the food was great, I’ll give them a 5 stars for the food rating. My steak was a little chewy and I didn’t personally love it, but one of the people from my party ordered the same thing and they loved it! I also got cake for dessert, which was so big and tasty! I didn’t have the chance to take a picture, but imagine one of the plates being literally filled with an entire slice of cake. It was very good and big, I will definitely order it the next time I am here. I got the yellow cake with chocolate frosting, and I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my to-go box and was met with a heaping scoop of whipped cream. Overall, this restaurant is definitely a great place to bring your family to have a nice outing or get together. I 100% recommend it.

If you’re looking for a dining experience that feels like a warm hug wrapped in a delicious blanket of French toast, then HUB CITY DINER is your place! This gem is not just cheap—it’s practically a steal! I strolled in on Thanksgiving when most places were closed, and I felt like I had found the last slice of pumpkin pie at a family gathering. The food arrived faster than I could say “gobble gobble,” and let me tell you, the French toast is like biting into a cloud—a cloud that’s been flavor-infused by angels. Seriously, if I could marry French toast, I would! The service? Oh my goodness! The waitstaff is a delightful squad of happy grandmas who must’ve just come from a yoga retreat. They radiate so much joy that I half-expected them to start a conga line while serving my coffee. Their vibe is so infectious, I left feeling like I could conquer the world—or at least my next meal! And let’s not forget about the prices. I’m convinced they’re running some kind of magical deal that makes you wonder if you fell into a parallel universe where everything is cheap and cheerful. In summary, if you want amazing food, fantastic service, and the opportunity to feel like you’re part of a joyous family gathering, HUB CITY DINER is the place to be! I’m already plotting my return—maybe for Christmas? Just make sure the French toast is ready!
